DESCRIPTION:
A half-day course providing comprehensive instruction in the theoretical and practical aspects for effective use of
fire extinguishers in the workplace. The course can be tailored for every type of workplace, including offices,
factories, retail outlets, hospitals, residential care homes and schools.
AIM:
Create an awareness of the nature of fire and to give participants the necessary confidence to be able to tackle a
small fire using portable firefighting equipment, when safe to do so.
OBJECTIVES:
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the unique nature of fire and smoke.
- Realise the potential for fire and smoke damage.
- Recognise different types of fire extinguisher and their operation.
- Understand the classifications of fire.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Staff that may need to use a fire extinguisher in the event of fire.
REQUIREMENT:
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
DURATION:
Half day (1000hrs – 1300hrs) or customer’s requirements.
MAXIMUM NUMBER PER COURSE:
15-20 depending on venue and cost.
